Dr. Ken Peters is an Int’l Economist, specializing in the Healthcare & Biotechnology area and its impact on worldwide markets & companies. He’s been involved in the fortune 500 Healthcare industry as an executive for more than three decades, traveling & living in Europe, South America & Africa. His expertise offers critical economic quantitative analysis in assessing technology’s impact on healthcare markets. He assists start-ups & existing companies becoming successful with technological change. Dr. Peters has a robust command of international healthcare regulatory affairs.

Having begun his career with Abbott Diagnostics during its hyper growth period, where revenues grew from $10M to $800M, he directly experienced the effects of technology change on businesses & markets globally. This explosive growth provided a platform to apply and integrate Analytical Economics with traditional finance and marketing to isolate technology impact on profitability, capital investment and operational planning. After evolving into senior management for Abbott, and later Pharmacia (Pfizer), he left the corporate world to engineer start-ups based on disruptive technologies.

Recognizing opportunities for new technologies as well as revitalizing old technologies, he founded World Diagnostics Inc. (NASDAQ), a single source worldwide supplier of medical laboratory products. Through strategic partnering, acquisitions and cross-licensing, World Diagnostics applied technological innovation to establish footholds across markets in 55 countries before being acquired.

He has been highlighted in the Wall Street Journal, published in various healthcare trade journals, a recipient of Dx Health Care Awards and noted in “Who’s Who in American Entrepreneurs”. Dr. Peters has been twice a guest scholar, at the University of Shanghai on International Business and is currently a full time professor lecturing in the “Global First Year Program” for foreign students at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
